▸　Fuzzy MCDM, COA and Fuzzy VIKOR

摘要 Abstract
❝　The terms MCDM (or MCDA, "A" for analysis) and MADM sometimes are used interchangeably in the literature. Multi-attribute decision making (MADM) methods are designed for problems with a pre-defined discrete set of alternatives, whereas multi-objective decision making (MODM) methods are for problems where alternatives are not pre-defined. In fuzzy MCDM, the ratings of alternatives versus criteria and the importance weights for criteria are usually assessed by linguistic terms represented by fuzzy numbers. After aggregating fuzzy ratings and weightings, a fuzzy number ranking method is needed to defuzzify final fuzzy weighted ratings for decision making. In this talk, some basic concepts in fuzzy set theory, such as fuzzy number, alpha-cuts, arithmetic operations of fuzzy numbers etc. will be introduced. The ranking method, center of area (COA), applied in triangular and trapezoidal fuzzy numbers will be presented, some properties will be discussed with proofs provided. Finally, fuzzy VIKOR, one of the commonly used fuzzy MCDM, will be introduced. The name of VIKOR in Serbian is "VIseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje", which means "Multicriteria Optimization and Compromise Solution" in English. An extension to fuzzy VIKOR will be presented and numerical example will be provided to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.　❞
