Quick Update - June 5th, 2024
Dear all,
Hope you are all doing well and getting ready for this short-term research.
The notification emails with the information of the Intern Student ID, housing, and check-in process were sent respectively to each of the program participants in May.
Should you not receive or have not yet responded to this said notification email, please contact us by June 11th
Other follow-up notices are scheduled to be sent on June 12th.
IMPORTANT DATE
- MAY 15 - Session 1 starts. ✓
MAY 15 - Session 1 Participants arrive and complete the check-in process. ✓ - JUNE 02 - Program Participants with an extra self-fund training period prior to Session 2 arrive, and complete the check-in process the next day. ✓
- JUNE 19 - Session 2 starts.
JUNE 19 - Session 2 Participants will arrive and meet us at 14:00 in front of the Division of Student Housing for the check-in process.
TRANSPORTAION INFORMATION
Because program participants arrive in Taiwan on different time and day, we are sorry that we cannot provide the pick-up service from the airport.
Please give our public transportation service a try. Options such as bus, MRT, THSR, train, taxi, etc. could be found using google map, for example, how to get to nthu.

ACCOMMODATION OPTION
For participants who come earlier before the check-in day (May 15th/June 02nd/June 19th, you may find accommodation options near the campus or from Tsing Hua Guest House (Guest House 1 or Ching 10F; booking system: https://affairs-guesths.vm.nthu.edu.tw/en/index.php; as for the column of “Purpose of Staying”, please identify yourselves as participants of 2024 summer research program at the College of Engineering).

Result Release - April 2nd, 2024
Thank you for submitting applications to the 2024 Summer Research Program at the College of Engineering, National Tsing Hua University.
The review process is now fully completed. The result is as follows:

Due to the limited numbers of the intern position and the scholarship quota, we are not able to take all the applicants for this Summer Research Program; however, we do highly appreciate the time and efforts every one of the applicants has put into the pursuits of studies, and are much impressed by the academic performance and achievements made thus far.
Please do check the inbox for the Acceptance Letter sent on April 2nd, should you get offered an intern position.
Please don't feel discouraged should you not obtain an offer for this time.

Thank you for showing the interests in the 2024 Summer Research Program at the College of Engineering, National Tsing Hua University.
We have been looking into the application documents and are close to completing the review process.
We expcect to announce the result in the first week of April.
An Acceptance Letter will be sent to you, should you get offered an intern position.

2024 Summer Research Program
at College of Engineering, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan
In pursuit of academic excellence, research developments and technological progress, we strive to

Thus, after the 3-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are back, with the Summer Research Program now open for online application.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
The Summer Research Program (SRP) takes place during summer at the College of Engineering in National Tsing Hua University.
The Program welcomes university students (with completion of at least two-year university studies) from around the world into one of the six disciplines to conduct a two-month research on projects of mutual interests with local and international students and under the guidance of a faculty advisor.

Tuition-free, the Program also provides a limited number of eligible Candidates with the scholarship to subsidize the airline tickets and the housing fee for the stay at the university residence halls.
The Summer Research Program offers the participants the opportunity to explore their research interests and further their studies via actual practices and Taiwan school-life experience.

PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
- two-month research on projects of mutual interests
- one-day field trip to places in Taiwan
- program-related orientation and final oral presentations
PROGRAM FEES & SCHOLARSHIP
- Tuition Fee: waived.
- Housing Fee: around 6,000~7,500 NTD for two months at the university residence hall
- program participants have to pay for accommodations, charged based on the dorm rooms.
The latest housing rates: “Housing Rates for Spring Semester, 2024”
(since the number of dormitory rooms is limited, the program participants is not guaranteed the dorm room or the option of a dorm room; the Division of Student Housing arranges and assigns the dorm rooms based on space availability; university residence halls are furnished, but students have to purchase bedding and pay for the use of the Internet and facilities such as AC, washing machine, etc.; we will do our best to assist the program participants in application for accommodations. Please confirm that you are the university student with completion of at least two-year university studies (undergraduate student in their 3rd/4th year of studies, or graduate student) from the university on the Reference List by the Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan). - Prepare the documents, merge the documents into 1 PDF File (size limit: 3 MB), and entitle the PDF File with your full name.

- Official Transcript of Academic Records (the most recent one, in English, including the list of courses taken, grades and credits of each course with semester/year indicated; also attaching the grading system or a table of criteria, if it’s not mentioned in the official transcript)

- Proof of the internship plan being requirements of the program the students enrolled in or of their graduation
- Photocopy of the Passport Photo-page (scan/e-copy, clear and in color)
